The context

Streaming made music endlessly available and strangely hard to find. Playlists shaped by algorithms reward what is already popular, while independent and niche artists drift out of sight.

About the project

A personal concept for listening with intention.

Spread Project started in 2018 as my own answer to that dispersion: a platform to discover and share independent music, where every selection would come with the story, the place and the scene behind it. The idea was to treat music as a cultural vehicle rather than background noise, pairing curated playlists with editorial content and interviews, and to connect people, eras and places through what they listen to.

I designed the visual identity and developed the concept of the platform around it. The project never launched, but the identity is complete, and the concept maps out how the platform would work, from the editorial structure to its possible extensions offline.

Visual Identity

The identity had to feel as varied as the music it wanted to promote. I built the system on sound as something that spreads: gradients and organic shapes suggest waves moving outward, and a palette chosen to evoke energy, variety and dynamism keeps every application lively.

Each playlist would be framed by context, so that discovering a sound also meant discovering who made it and where it came from. The aim was an immersive experience: a coherent narrative and visual path that accompanies listeners from one discovery to the next.

Platform Concept

The platform was imagined as a reference point for independent music listeners, with navigation designed to move between editorial sections, playlists and special content.

Beyond Digital

The concept also explored how the project could sustain itself.

It sketched limited vinyl editions and merchandise tied to the curated selections, and a replicable format for events and live evenings, giving the community a physical place to meet around the music and turning the curation into something that could travel from venue to venue.

Results

A complete identity and a platform on paper.

Spread Project remained a concept, but a thorough one: the visual identity was fully designed, and the platform, its editorial model and its offline extensions were defined in detail. It is an identity designed as a system, meant to hold together music, editorial content and physical objects.
